Shout Out - Choice Kuts

My talented friend, Tommy, started a side project called Choice Kuts and I am blown away with his latest paper kraft: Digital Love - a glow in the dark paper sculpture of Daft Punk.

Check out his blog for more detailed photos along with the other paper sculptures he's made. He's going through the alphabet and I can't wait to see what he does for "P" (or "N" for Niko, perhaps?)! ;)

And yes, he's also the sweet husband who made his lovely wife a paper robot necklace box on Valentine's Day.

Yesterday we celebrated our friend's daughter, Ariella's first birthday. They asked me to make a special personalized tiger pillow for her so that I did! Complete with grey stripes, a pink nose, and a smile, this little tiger was so happy to meet her new best friend. Ariella was so cute, she kept kissing the tiger! <3 My heart melted every time. I never get to see how kids react to my products so it was a very special moment. We had lots of fun stuffing ourselves with a delicious home cooked meal and a beautiful pink cake all made by Ariella's mom. :)

101 in 1001: #90 Nautical Headband

Hello hello! :) I hope I find you well. I'm taking a little sewing break with a blog post that should have been posted last week. Oops!

I made this nautical headband as my last Facebook handmade project for a dear friend I met in art school, Sandra. I found this tutorial on pinterest for the crochet and knot portion and used this tutorial for the hairband portion. I wanted to use materials I had so the only thing I bought were the hairbands. It was so fun to make, I ended up making three more! Presents for my lady friends?

The only thing I had a problem with was the hot glue gun. But I think I'm just hot glue challenged because I tend to get it everywhere in huge globs. :x Then I broke a machine needle because I accidentally tried to sew through the glue. Haha, so learn from my mistake and stay far away from the glued areas! ;)

It took me six months, but I completed my Facebook handmade project! Woohoo! I have to say it's rewarding to give random gifts that you made yourself. You should try it too, if you dare! Just post this on your FB wall:

Busy As A Bee

I'll be taking a little blog break this month because I have a ton of projects with deadlines coming up. I'll try to stop in once in a while with sneak peeks or news so it's not completely silent around here. :)

And speaking of news, I found out earlier today that I won a day pass to the Conference of Creative Entrepreneurs from the lovely Danni of ohhellofriend! :D It'll be the first time I'll be spending a full day away from Bruce which worries me but I'm so excited about all the helpful info I'll be getting out of it.
