"Whatchu lookin' at?" *oink!* ;)

I don't have a specific post for today but I do want to share that I've been working little by little on a special penguin for the past couple months. It's for a dear friend so I've taken my sweet time with it. It's finally coming together and I can't WAIT for her to see the final product. It's based on a character from a children's book. ;) I'll be sharing photos once I hand it to her.

This weekend, I'm looking forward to Craft Day #2 with my girlfriends and a relaxing Fathers (to-be) Day for Brandon. Haha, his idea of relaxing means I don't pester him with questions while he's on the computer or playing games. Let's see how long that lasts since I always end up finding SOMETHING to share. :P

Have a great weekend and Happy Father's Day!

Shout Out - Knitting Dreams

Cutest little bears on the block! I found these adorable teddies on Etsy a few months back and realized I haven't blogged about them yet. :) They are from Knitting Dreams' shop and she has quite a bit of a collection going. I'd love to start collecting them myself, starting with Shiro, the cute white bear in the top photo. ;)

Aren't they adorable?! Check out more photos on her flickr page here.

Episode 16: SF Etsy Sampler Show

1 darling notes
Interviewing Alana of Etta & Billie

Hello Monday!

Boy, was this weekend full of events. :) And great events at that! First, I have to mention that I was able to make a special podcast episode for my SF Etsy street team. It's an interview of all the artists that were vending at the SF Etsy Sampler. Unfortunately, Brandon's not in the podcast, but he helped put it together so I hope you enjoy it!

Show Notes are available at the SF Etsy Blog along with photos and links to each artists' shops!

I also wanted to mention that the SF Ethnic Dance Fesitval was AMAZING! We arrived there early and saw the preshow where Courtney's group, Halau o Keikiali'i, performed dances of the modern hula.

The main show was full of energy and it was a great way to see a glimpse of all these different dance styles of different ethnic backgrounds. I loved how afterwards, everyone was in the dancing mood and some people danced all the way to their cars! If you missed out this weekend, they still have shows playing for the rest of the month of June. :) Check out the schedule here.

That's it for today. :) Hope you have a great week!

Fan Moments: Lavender in Busan, South Korea Part I

0 darling notes
Yes! :D Another set of photos from the adventures of Lavender, the mini penguin, from the lovely H. I'm envious of her travels and very very thankful for taking Lavender with her and sharing their trips with us! Last month, she traveled to Busan, South Korea on a business trip and here are half of the photos:

Lavender at Starbucks

At Haeundae Beach

At Yongdusan Park

In front of Lotte Department Store

Ice rink at Shinsegae Department Store

At the mini garden in front of the department store

Stay tuned for next week for Part II! If you've missed out on Lavender's travel to China, click here. :D

Thank you so much, H!

OFF Topic: Bedroom Update

2 darling notes
I hope you had a nice relaxing weekend, as mine was filled with lots of errands, moving furniture and Braxton Hicks contractions. I think I might've stressed myself out by not taking a breather now and then, so I had contractions all throughout the day and night yesterday. We debated whether or not to stop by the hospital and ended up just riding it out and see how I felt today. :) Promised Brandon that I'll be taking it easy today so we'll see how it goes.

Just wanted to share the latest changes in our bedroom as we prepare for the little one to arrive. :)

Bedroom Before

I never got around to putting any decor above the bed or anything to enhance the room... I know, not even a window curtain. But I'm hoping to jazz it up within the next few months. :)

Bedroom/Nursery In Progress

For now, we put the crib where our bed used to be and the dresser will eventually be tucked away elsewhere. Still have a lot of planning of where to put this and that, but now that the crib is in the room, it all feels so real! In just a few months, our baby will be sleeping in there... crazy! We also changed out the green duvet cover to lighten up the room since our furniture is all dark and heavy. White and green pillows on the bed is on the to-do list. Well, along with everything else. :P

Have a nice Monday! :)

Raspberry Cream (Failed Attempt) & Mexican Chocolate Streusel Cupcakes

Happy Friday! :)

Earlier this week, our Baby's crib arrived! So this weekend, we'll assemble it and figure out a way to fit it into our tiny bedroom. We live in a small two bedroom apartment and since I'll hopefully still be sewing away in my office/craft room, we decided that until we move into a bigger place, we'll have Baby sleep with us. Lots and lots more to do before the little one arrives. I don't know how you lovely mothers, especially working mothers, manage to do it all! ;)

What are your plans for the weekend?

WHAT News

2 darling notes

I hope you had a relaxing Memorial Day weekend. :) My dad and sister came up to visit and we had an awesome BBQ with friends. Had lots and lots of fun but now it's time to get busy!

The 3rd issue of My Dear Darling's newsletter was sent out early this morning along with a couple announcements that I wanted to share:

First, personalization or custom orders will be put on hold from July. This means if you have any personalized orders that you're planning to make, please place these orders in by June 30th. I'm hoping to resume personalization/custom orders in January of 2011!

From September to December, the official MDD shop and my Etsy shop will be closed for my maternity leave. I'm very sad that I won't be able to make holiday orders this year but I wanted to make sure everything with Baby is taken care of before I break promised creation dates with anyone. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that I'll open shop by November though. ;)

If you have any questions regarding these changes, please don't hesitate to contact me. Otherwise, enjoy the new June desktop wallpaper calendar!
