Shout Out - English Tea

1 darling notes
Rich & Delicious

I know it's Friday but I owe you a Shout Out so I decided to dedicate it to English tea. :) As you know, my BFF had a lovely vacation in England and brought me back some awesome gifts. Before she left, she asked me if I wanted anything... actually, I think I told her to bring me back something. :P So she asked what I'd like and I couldn't think of anything besides an umbrella. o_O Yes, an umbrella. But since umbrellas take up too much luggage space, I remembered I was running low on tea and wanted to try real English tea. She came back with more than just a tea bag:

Bueno Bar (seriously, you have to try this)
• New English Teas (pictured above)
• Talors of Harrogate Yorkshire Gold teas (sipping on now)
• Awesome wooden pieces of London (simply beautiful)

I'll elaborate on the wooden pieces in a different post because they're just that awesome. But today, I wanted to share the English teas. I love the handmade miniature teapot! You can't possibly tell by the photo but the teapot in the photo above is barely 2.5 inches tall! I suppose it's functional but I'd need to get a miniature teacup to fill. ;) On the back of the packaging (not shown), they explain what the teapot means to the British:

"To the British, a teapot is an essential part of daily life. It has been a part of English culture since tea was introduced to England by Charles II's Queen, Catherine of Braganza in 1657.

"The teapot carries with it a rich history of much that is best about English culture and experience.

"Tea remains today what it has been to generations of people, a symbol of good neighbourliness and friendship between people of many different nations."

I love when well designed packages offer more than just selling the product. :) After reading this, I started to want to collect teapots! Well, I think the miniature handmade teapot added to my obsession. In anycase, the tea is definitely rich compared to the watered down American kind. Yum!

What News

Hello. :)

It seems as though I've disappeared off the face of the earth for a bit. I hope you had a lovely week last week and a nice weekend to follow. Actually, I've been quite ill and I'm finally starting to feel a bit better. Crossing my fingers in hopes of full recovery soon! I've still a bit of a migraine so I'm blogging this as fast as possible (The computer light makes it worse.) and letting you know that I'll be updating everything I've missed by possibly thisWednesday.

So what have I been doing? Sleeping, relaxing, taking meds and watching tons of movies and reading. Here's the list of movies:

Julie & Julia *right before getting sick
Sense and Sensibility
Sleepers
Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles
Sleepless in Seattle
Shawshank Redemption
Life Aquatic
17 Again
The Hulk
About a Boy

I think I might be missing a few. One week of sickness is a LONG time. They were all great movies, well, Julie & Julia was just good. And I know you're thinking, "17 Again"? Lol, it was surprisingly funny and good. :) Takes you back to your teen years. I've also started reading Martha Stewart's The Martha Rules. It's a very easy read and somewhat informative, contents mainly gets you enthusiastic about achieving business success. I'll save a detailed review once I've finished reading it. ;)

So yes, I can't wait to get better to get some sewing done and finish all wedding prep. Eeek only 12 Days left!! Have a lovely Monday. <3

Darling Moments

Oakland A's Baseball Game

My husband, our friend and I went to an A's game a few Sundays ago. I hadn't been to a game since I was a little girl so it was fun to experience old times. :) We ate SO much: Hot dogs (of course), a sandwich, cotton candy, nachos, churros and I'm sure I'm missing a few. It was a pretty exciting game. Our friend and I were super into it as my husband just watched, a bit bored, I think. He doesn't like baseball much. The A's won 9 - 4 against the Detroit Tigers and we all went home happy (well, except for the Tigers). :)

Fan Moments: Red in the UK

5 darling notes
Happy September! I can't believe it's already our vow renewal/wedding month. It feel like just yesterday we eloped. :) But now I finally get to walk down the isle with my dad and say our "fake" I-Do's. Hehe. I sure got a lot to take care of before the ceremony. *sweat*

Do you have any special plans for this new month?

Last week, I shared a few photos of Red, my best friend's mini penguin, and his stop over to the One and Other plinth. Here are the rest of Red's photos in his adventure to the UK. I actually have no idea where these were taken because I've never been, so if I say anything wrong please correct me. :)

Red not sharing his
beer
pear cider and drooling over his
hot dog
sausage and mash (S&M).

Peaking through the red telephone booth.

Looks like he's caught red handed.

Eating his favorite chocolate snack.

Drank a little too much gin and tonic.

"Hello?! Are you going to stop taking photos and help me here?"

At
the clock tower
Big Ben.

By the way, if you've never tasted the Bueno chocolate bar, you're seriously missing out. B sent me one (yes, she was being greedy, jk) and it was delicious! :D

Thank you, B for sharing these with me. I wanted to post other landscape photos but I figured they were private. :P
