Care Package from B
B had sent me an encrypted email a few days ago which were the numbers to a FedEx tracking number. On Tuesday, I had forgotten all about it when FedEx rang my doorbell so I opened the door to a pleasant surprise. :) Each gift had a fun meaning to it. I told myself not to try ANY of the chocolates until the Mister came home so he could have one or two before I gobbled it all up. I succeeded surprisingly. Thank you so much B! I promise next time I send you a care package, I'll send it before my cravings start. (The Mister and I ended up eating all the goodies before I could ship it out.) I haven't tried the pedicure set but I'm thinking I'll use it this weekend when my sister comes up to visit from the OC. :D I'm super excited to pick her up from the airport tomorrow and have a girls day in the city (SF).

My Dear Darling Personalization
Personalized Penguin Plush
Tango and Tazuni are such a cute pair jamming to their music and dancing. These penguins were inspired by a true story about two male Chinstrap penguins, Roy and Silo, raising a female chic penguin, Tango, in New York's Central Park Zoo. Tango had grown up and was seen paired with Tazuni, another female penguin. This story had also inspired an award winning book, And Tango Makes Three, that was written by Peter Parnell and Justin Richardson and illustrated by Henry Cole. I have to admit, I haven't read the book yet but the illustrations are super cute. :)

My Dear Darling Personalization
Personalized Penguin Plush
Don't mess with those army of penguins! :) These penguins were personalized for three of our U.S. Army soldiers. They each have a beret, a dog tag and the camouflage uniform with "U.S. ARMY" and their last names. A lot of reading and research went into this project and it was very interesting to find out many facts about their uniforms. My favorite part was the photo shoot, having all three of them together. What do you think?

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I got a lot of things done but I still have lots to do. I'm hoping to finish two more personalized penguins tonight and crossing my fingers to have my wedding invitations ready to send out also. My husband and I eloped last September and since our families and friends missed out on it, we're having a super small intimate wedding for our one year anniversary. Talk about fast vow renewal. :P It's already FIVE MONTHS AWAY and I've got close to nothing done. Time's definitely a tickin'. Browsing wedding blogs and shops online and reading Martha Stewart's Wedding magazine has been helpful but so much to do in so little time! I think I finally see why brides get so caught up in the planning.

Yesterday, I had the fun opportunity to play a scavenger hunt game by Stephanie via her twitter. The first person to get all the answers correct would win one of her Marcy Necklaces. I was super late in the game because I just happen to run across it when I was on tweeting about tipping dog groomers. (I had no idea.) BUT!! I got so into the game and rushed each of my answers to her and GUESS WHAT?! I tied for first place!! :D I was super excited I called the Mister at work and he said, "Cool! So, is it for me?" hahaha. I paid her extra to add a heart charm and double the length of the chain. Stephanie was so sweet throughout the entire process. Her shop is filled with great customizable jewelry so go check it out! I can't wait to receive my necklace and share it with everyone. :)

I know it's only been a week since I posted the info for the contest but no entries yet. YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? It means if only ONE person enters... that person automatically WINS! And, I'm considering, the winner can choose any My Dear Darling pillow instead of being stuck with the newest pillow that you haven't seen. :D
Here are some ideas you might consider for your photos:
1. Having the boat float in water.
2. Making a huge paper boat for your Holly Aboard.
3. Making a significant other for your Holly Aboard.
Remember, Holly's gotta be in the photo somewhere. :)

My friend and talented designer, Bryce Butcher, has created a paper doll for her Digital Illustration class at Art Center. She sent me the file so I can test it out myself. Using an Xacto knife, scissors, glue and some double stick tape, I put Holly Aboard together last night so you can get an idea of what she looks like. I think you can agree with me when I say she's absolutely adorable. I had so much fun putting Holly Aboard together, I thought, why not hold a contest so others can put her together and give away the newest My Dear Darling pillow that will come out at the end of this month. :D
HOW TO ENTER:
All you have to do is download the Holly Aboard PDF file (here), print, put her together, take a photo and send it to Submit@MyDearDarling.com
